On Holy Saturday, everyone was in chaos and disoriented as Matthew Kelly states in his Lenten video series. Jesus was gone, he was in the tomb, and the next day he would rise again. Now that is confusing and disorienting.
But haven’t you felt disoriented when a new life must begin – either because of a change of career or jobs, a change in relationship, a loss, or a change in location? Yes, most of us feel some disorientation and confusion when these events happen. Yet, navigation of such feelings is necessary to enter into the new life that is either chosen or upon us. Thankfully, we can turn to God for direction and guidance in the midst of change.
When Jesus departed it seemed tragic, and yet, God sent the Holy Spirit to live within us. What a precious and priceless gift. The Holy Spirit that guides, and comforts and seeks us out – these aren’t just words in a text – I have personally lived this power. We are not abandoned.
What is lasting? What is important? Turn to God in your chaos and in your peace, for comfort and love and guidance that is waiting just for you…especially for you. Slow down, skip a few errands, and dwell in the Presence that is “the food that fills your emptiness and the living water that quenches your inner thirst.”
God bless all of you on Easter and during Passover and on this day and always,
Blessed
